Choose an accessible layout, not just a larger unit.
Our equipment range includes the wheelchair-accessible PolyJohn Comfort XL and dedicated ADA models such as the PolyJohn We’ll Care III and Satellite Freedom. Specify a designated ADA unit when the site requires ADA facilities.
A wide doorway does not solve a raised curb or an obstructed approach. Put the unit on the same plan as parking, paths, activity areas and accessible handwashing. For a gathering at an Elk Grove park, have the venue review the complete location and route.

How accessible units fit into a public-event cluster.
The U.S. Access Board states that at least 5% of portable single-user toilets in each cluster must be accessible. Round up to a whole unit: a cluster of 20 needs at least one accessible unit; a cluster of 21 needs at least two. Venue or permit requirements may call for more.

Keep the entry usable throughout the rental.
Plan a firm, stable surface with room outside the door. Keep hoses, power cables, signs and queues away from the entry. Recheck the approach after rain or a layout change. A spot that was clear during delivery can become difficult to reach after tents and barriers are installed.
The Access Board identifies an exception for portable units used exclusively by construction personnel. Tell us who will use the facilities and which project requirements apply; public visitors and event guests need their own access plan.
