How this planner calculates
For events up to four hours, start with one portable toilet per 50 guests and round up. For up to six hours, add half that starting count, rounded up. For up to eight hours, double the starting count. If alcohol is served, add 20% to the duration-adjusted quantity, again rounding up.
These are planning assumptions for this tool. They help compare scenarios; they are not a legal minimum or a venue approval. Existing toilets, peak arrival patterns, user needs and service between event sessions can change the final arrangement.

Plan accessible facilities and washing separately
The number on the calculator does not specify an accessible unit mix. Review the event layout and applicable requirements, then choose accessible models and a firm route. Place handwashing where users can reach it easily and include water, soap and towels in the service plan.
Look at the busiest period
Attendance across an entire day is different from everyone arriving for a ceremony at once. Tell us about meal breaks, intermissions, bar service and whether multiple groups share the facilities. For a multi-day event, plan cleaning and tank capacity between sessions.
